Hey guys! As I usually do, I wanted to provide some recommendations for this year’s November Sephora Sale! I wanted to do one big post rather than multiple ones by category, just to make it easier for you guys, like a one-stop-shop. Makeup Hourglass Hylauronic Skin Tint is my FAVORITE skin base right now, it has really good medium/buildable coverage, which I love to thin out and make more sheer with an illuminator for an easy everyday look. Lashstash is my favorite kit style product from Sephora. It’s a bunch of mascaras in a box, in minis! It’s a fun way to try out a bunch of different mascaras and not feel so guilty about throwing out a full-sized mascara 4-6 weeks in (as you truly should). It’s good value! Hourglass Ghost Palette – If I had $100 to throw around, this is what I’d buy! I have a previous…

Hey guys! These past few months I’ve taken a healthy break from posting here on BGB to focus on other areas of my life, only posting about once a month. It’s been great, and here’s what I’ve been up to: October October saw my sister’s birthday, Thanksgiving and Halloween. I LOVE my sister’s birthday, and Thanksgiving (I tolerate Halloween to make my coworkers happy). October also saw the return of my favorite sport: HOCKEY. Sadly my team is struggling as per usual this year but someday soon they’re going to sort themselves out. November November was a great month! I enjoyed my birthday, a fun contract with a client and some outings with friends. But first thing’s first… my dad fixed my microwave for me early on in the month, and now I can make microwave popcorn! (And reheat leftovers). Next up was loads of fun snuggling puppies. Jazz, Whiskey…

Hey guys! Today I wanted to share the perfect Christmas morning brunch idea- savory baked brie. Why is it perfect, you may be wondering. Who wants a giant block of cheese for breakfast on Christmas? Me. And once you’ve tried this, you, too. It’s ideal for Christmas because it’s a perfect “snacking” brunch, you can have as little or as much as you want and it goes amazingly well with fresh fruit like nectarines and pears as well as fresh salads. And a glass of wine, if you’re feeling it. Another reason it’s perfect for Christmas is that you use the same fresh herbs to top it as you’d want with turkey dinner, so it makes things super easy in terms of shopping.  Lastly… this is really, really easy to make. Let something about your holiday season be easy, why don’t you? Savory Herb Baked Brie 1 double or triple…

Hey guys! The November Sephora sale has begun for VIB Rouge (today is the last day of the Rouge weekends using code ROUGEBONUS) and I’ve decided my first recommendation post will be about holy grail, popular, cult favorite makeup products I’ve noticed regularly sell out during VIB sales. VIB Shoppers will be able to shop November 9-12th, and VIB Rouge will be excluded from using their codes during that time. Let’s get into it! I’ve split this up amongst categories for ease. Primers, Foundations and Concealers My favorite foundations are almost all available at Sephora, so they’re included in the widget below, as well as a few that I know friends and family love. Right now, I’m personally using the Nars Sheer Glow foundation (in “siberia”, bless me). Powder Products – Blushes, Bronzers and Finishing Powders I love a good blush and bronzer, and recently I’ve been liking certain finishing powders…

Hey guys! This is one of those situations where I really love something and I’m almost afraid to tell you because it is so good but also so expensive. And I’m the Broke Girl Blog, after all… is more mid to high end beauty products “on brand”? Probably not, but I love to be honest and transparent about what I’m loving, even if it’s an expensive face powder, because I feel like I owe that to the people who pop over here to read my blog. Of course I’m talking about the much hyped, widely loved, Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting powder. This powder is $55 Canadian for 10.5 grams. Ok, before I go too far into the price of this item and compare it to other options… let’s talk about why I love it so much! Reason #1 is that this is a translucent powder- I have quite light skin, and I…

Hey guys! This is a bit of a surprise post I imagine for a lot of us- I certainly didn’t realize until I got my VIB Rouge email that there was a Sephora VIB sale occurring this month at all! The sale opened for VIB Rouge members last Friday and will continue offering 20% off with the code YESROUGE until September 3rd- this time, the code is single-use online, and unlimited use in-store. Sneaky Sephora on that single-use thing for online. VIB Insiders can start enjoying their 15% off on August 30th using the code YESVIB, and Beauty Insiders will receive 10% off if they use the code YESINSIDER. Since this is generally the most generous discounts available for the year, I like to consider this sale as my “stock up” sale, because I’ll buy things that I will need to buy anyhow- skin products, my everyday foundation, powder, mascara. Anything new…
