Hey-o!!! It’s another Rose Review! This time I’m talking about the Adorada Rose which is a California product (I know, my fellow Canadians… I assure you, this was purchased before the tarriffs were announced and I started thinking more harshly about my own purchasing habits, but I can’t say I’d never buy it again… spoiler alert: this wine is amazing). This rose can be found at the Costco liquor stores in my area, and at some Liquor Depots and Solo Liquor stores.

So, Adorada only makes 2 types of wine- this rose, and a pinot gris. For starters, the presentation of these bottles is amazing- it’s a crisp graphic design that showcases the gorgeous color of the wine. However, that gorgeous bottle is actually brutal to get into. I’m not even kidding when I say this- that gorgeous black portion of the bottle is actually like waxy plastic and you have to get at the cork in the wine by pulling a little release strip, but it breaks before going around the whole way every time. My sister stabbed herself with a knife trying to get into one of these bottles when the rip cord thing broke. So, fix this Adorada!!! It’s literally the only downside to this wine and it kills me because I just want to get at it!

So, obviously I really like this wine. Normally I’ll sit down and have a glass or two of wine and savor it (my family jokes I’m a slow-poke at drinking), but my sister and I were chatting and drinking this bottle and before we knew it, it was almost gone between the two of us in an evening. Don’t judge me. I know it happens to you, too.

The first thing about this wine that I love is how it’s not cloyingly sweet- it’s actually pretty crisp with a fast finish. It tastes like strawberries and citrus but without coming off too fruity somehow… you literally sit there and think “Oh dang, this is good… this is real good. Is that a hint of strawberries? Maybe some grapefruit? Is this me not caring so I can just commit to enjoying it? Yep.”

This is about $13 at Costco- you can look up any wine I mention on the website Liquor Connect if you live in Alberta and  it will tell you where you can find it in your area!
