Hey Guys! Last year I did an affordable boots post, and people really seemed to like it so I thought I’d get on things a bit earlier this year while there’s still time and stock! All of these options are linked, and are $150 or less. Now, I don’t know about you guys but I don’t have a load of money to spend on boots, but they just aren’t optional here. So, you won’t see any cutesy boots with open toes or laser cut details. Where I live, it’s actually cold and these types of boots need to carry me through the winter (I have some ultra cold weather boots, for when it’s -20 and below, but they’re not so cute). So, depending on what type of day it is, I’ll wear a different boot. I am lucky that I have a space at work just for me, so I…

Hi guys! I know you are not surprised that since it’s now officially FALL, I am back on the comfort food train! As if my butt needs any more comfort food, but that’s a whole other issue lol. It got very chilly and rainy (?! this is not normal for where I live) last week and after being soaked to the skin twice in one day, I knew what I needed- a warm, hearty risotto and having just finished making corn stock, I figured corn and bacon risotto would be a perfect match for the kind of day I was having. Corn and bacon risotto isn’t exactly a “traditional” risotto, it’s kind of something I just figured would be good a year or so ago, and so I made it! Cooking is all about the fun anyhow, right? Corn and Bacon Risotto $8.82 for four or $2.21 per serving 1/2…

Hey Guys! I’m back with a healthy freezer-friendly meal today! This one is actually pretty simple, just a mushroom saute with kale and pancetta over a bed of mixed wild rice! The addition of loads of fresh thyme and a serious deglazing with white wine helps pack a flavorful punch. I have to admit I took a lazy kid shortcut and used pre-cubed pancetta (from my mom’s freezer, thanks @Alberta_Allie!) and pre-washed/sliced mushrooms. Sometimes, when I’m trying really hard to stock up a bunch of meals in a short amount of time, the pre-prepped ingredients really help! Mushroom and Kale Harvest Bowl $2.30 per serving, serves 8 for $18.43 1 Red Onion, chopped- ~1.20 1 package of cremini mushrooms- $3.98 1 package of white mushrooms- $3.98 1/2 package of cubed pancetta (~75 grams)- $3 10 large stems of kale (priced for frozen)- $3 3 Sprigs of Thyme – $0.39 1…

Hi Guys! I know, it has been a while since I last posted! If you have been following a while, you may have noticed that the website got a pretty substantial facelift this past month, and since I do my own development and design (I am the person behind GxIII Digital, where I help businesses and entrepreneurs make their online branding dreams become reality), that took up a bit of time I would normally dedicate to writing and editing. Also, other websites I have been working on have taken precedence, as has important time with family and friends. But I’m back, with a video I filmed a month ago and just was able to finish editing! I love compiling favorites videos because as a person, they’re some of my favorite videos to watch! I like getting ideas on what products are worthwhile to purchase. I feel like the ideas are presented…

Hey guys! I am SO excited to share with you today my back to college essentials in collaboration with Walmart! Some of you who have been following me from the beginning may know that I had an extended course of study in college, obtaining a certificate, diploma and degree over a 7 year time period. Being in college has been a huge part of my adult life- the first place I wrote professionally, where I became and honed my skills as a people-manager, where I discovered my love of math and -maybe most importantly- where I developed my love for the polytechnic I now also work for. It’s safe to say that in those seven years, some of which I was a full time student and working full time in the finance industry, I developed some tips and tricks for how to design a study space that works and how…
