It seems late for a holiday decorating post, eh?

No, my friends. I know I’m not the only one asleep at the switch, too busy eating cookies and watching the holiday fire channel with a glass of wine to have all of my decorating done.

So, let’s head on over to my sister’s house, where everything is beautiful, to chat holiday mantle decorations.

First thing’s first, this is a custom mantle that my dad made, it matches all of her cabinetry. So sadly, I cannot link something similar.

With Christmas only a few days away, it is NOT too late to achieve a similarly festive mantle setup. Here are some tips for creating a cohesive holiday mantle:

  1. Vary your heights- see the difference between the sparkly balls, and the chrome tree? This will help you fill the space.
  2. Vary your textures- You’ll notice that natural textures are brought in with pinecones, wood, and then black metal, chrome and black
  3. Stick to a simple color palette – metallic, white, and black in this case.
  4. When in doubt, add sparkle- this one is self explanatory.
  5. If you think the last thing you added is too much, take it away because it is. Especially if you’re me.

I hope this helps! Loads of holiday décor is now on sale at the shops, so if you’ve procrastinated, just brand yourself thrifty and get at it. There’s still loads of time.
